LIGHT-HEAVY TITLE RGLLINSON OUTPOINTS STEVENS (P.A.) GISBOIINE, February 1(3. Fighting for the light-heavy-weight professional title, Doug. Rollinson, 12.-1 J, beat the title-holder, Roy Stevens, 11.8, on points in a 15-round match after an even tussle up to the fourteenth round. Stevens appeared co take the challenger’s body, attack lightly in the early rounds, but this was probably the decisive feature ol the fight, because the champion tired in the last two rounds, and in the last round he was merely fighting to keep jfollinson away.
The winner’s performance was characterised by a dogged, aggressive spirit. He came back quickly after Hurry in the thirteenth round when Stevens was within a touch of finishing him off. His extra weight was a big factor in Rollinson’s win, and good condition enabled him to survive solid punishment from Stevens’s lefts > the head.
