BRETTON WOODS AGREEMENT
CLEAVAGE IN EMPIRE 1 EFFECTS OF AMERICAN LOAN (Rec. 11.50 a.m.)* LONDON, Oct. 17. Britain was already a member of the Bretton Woods International Fund, and there is therefore on this basis ol financial issue a cleavage in the Empire. There is also a split on the principle of Imperial preference. The dominions demonstrate the high unchanging value they set on it. Britain, who is for the loan which daily grows less valuable as American prices soar, has divided herself from New Zealand and Australia.
