TREASURE TROVE
DISCOVERY IN CYCLADES GREEK FIGURES BURIED 4,000 YEARS (Rec. 12.45 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 17. Treasure trove, buried 3,750 years ago, which is reputed to be the most important discovery of Greek archaeology for 50 years, was discovered in the form of gold and ivory figures, plaques, and a gold-inscribed cylinder in an ivory box on the Cyclades island of Delos, reports the ‘ Daily Express ’ Athens correspondent. Frenchmen of an archaeological mission found the box 18 inches under the ground near the temple of Artemis. “
