A Blondie comedy, ‘ Blondie’s Lucky Day,’ with Penny Singleton, Arthur Lake, and Larry Simms in the starring roles, is the associate film, MAYFAIR. . ‘ The Man from Morocco,’ with Margaretta Scott as leading lady, was screened at the Mayfair Theatre yesterday. The picture relates the adventures of a small band of volunteers of the famous International who,' after fighting courageously iff' Spain for democracy are obliged to fly over the frontiers to France, where 'they are immediately interred in Camp Vernon. The leader of those volunteers, Karel, a sculptor (Anton Walbrook), meets and falls in love with a beautiful Spanish girl, Maimela de Roya (Margaretta Scott). MariueJa contrives to arrange Karel’s release from the internment camp, but fails. The Germans invade France, and the political prisoners- are shipped to Africa. Karel succeeds in escaping to London, where he delivers information of vital importance to the United Nations. ‘ Girl Rush,’ with Frances Langford and Vera Vague in the leading roles, is a strong supporting feature.
