JEWISH RIGHT TO PALESTINE THEY REMADE A BLOSSOMING LAND (Efec. 10.58 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 25. Palestine could not belong t to anyone except the Jews, whose right was recorded in Holy Scripture, said Dr Dayan Gnunfield, chief rabbi representative at the Anglo-American Committee inquiry on Palestine. The committee opened its London sittings today after hearing the evidence in the United States. Dr Grunfield added that Jewish possession of Palestine could not be abrogated by the sword or any other force—certainly not by a conquest and occupation which had left the land in desolation until the Jews returned and built cities, planted farms r.nd vineyards, and remade a blossoming land from swamp and chaos. Professor Brodetsky, representing the Board of Deputies of the British Jews, said he recentl*- visited Ger many, and concluded that the Jews there would not return to the countries from which they had been taken by the Nazis.
