SPLENDID PROGRESS
THE U.N.O. CONFERENCE BIG PROBLEMS NOT BURKED (IRec. 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 24. The United Nations Conference was making splendid progress, said Mr Byrnes before leaving by air for America; and this despite all the difficulties of bringing together 51 nations to organise such a great undertaking. \lr Byrnes emphasised that the United States at no time had used any pressure to have the Security Council postpone consideration of the Greek, Persian, and Indonesian problems. The United Nations Organisation was being built to deal with big things, and these were the kind of important matters with which it should deal.
