ROAD ACCIDENTS IN LONDON
STEEP INCREASE RECORDED » LONDON, Dee. 28. The first report issued by Scotland Yard since the war shows road accidents to be again increasing in the metropolitan police area. Casualties in the Julv-Soptember quarter in 1945 rose to 1,451 compared with a quarterly average of 5,000 in 1943-44. Ihe number of private cars and motor cycles involved in accidents rose steeply from May as more came on the roads.
