The Allies have blown up the Gor man U-boat pens at Hamburg. Thirty two tons of German bombs and T.N.T were distributed among the piers which wore eight feet thick, and exploded electrically. The roof, which was 12ft thick, was shattered and collapsed The explosion, which sent up a column of smoke 2.060 ft brought to nothing works on which the Germans worked for four and u-ltalf years.
