FORBURY PARK TROTS

IKE SPRING fSEETIKG On Saturday and Monday next the Forbury Park Trotting Club will hold its spring meeting, the first of the club’s 1940-41 season, at Forbury Park. The events in almost every instance have . filled exceptionally well, and this is easily the best programme the club has offered to the public for this particular meeting in a number of years. All that is now required is fine weather Practically two full holidays at the week-end will enable patrons to attend the meeting, and coming right after the trotting carnival at Addington there should be little doubt as to the form horses. Most of the improving division of pacers and trotters have been included in the various classes, and the contests should be close Until the end of the war the club is handing over all profits to patriotic purposes, aiid the club and the public alike will be working practically as one body, making a good sum available for (landing over to the fund. The first event each day is timed for 12.30, with the last at 4.40. Betting will be on the win and place system, and with such large fields engaged the place machine should profe popular with the public. A frequent transport service will run direct to the gates. Members of H.M. Special Force (in uniform) will be admitted free, but must enter by the Richardson street gate or horse gate, Victoria road. ,
