RED CROSS NEWS
Donations. The girls of the Dunedin Technical High School Red Cross Group have sent a splendid donation for distressed children in Britain, which the society acknowledges with sincere thanks. The girls forming this group are from IS to 16 years of ago, and membership is voluntary. The work is all done in free work groups and in the girls’ spare time, which is greatly to their credit. The material'for the work is supplied either from wool bought by the girls themselves, from staff contributions, or by the girls’ parents. The cloth garments are made from used garments, washed, turned, and remade. The work is of such a high standard that the society has decided to show it at the Rod Cross Rooms, Queen’s buildings, Princes street, on Thursday next, from 1 to 5. Donation to Lady Galway Guild. Six cases of goods for refugee children have been packed and sent to the Lady Galway Guild this week, to be forwarded to England. Acknowledgments. The thanks of the Red Cross Guild are expressed to the following, who have..sent in comforts for the sick and wounded and garments for refugees during the past week; Belleknowes Ladies’ Golf Club, Moa Creek W.D.F.U., British Israel Women’s League (Dunedin branch), South Dunedin Presbyterian Church Women’s Guild, Mrs Nelson (Mornington League), Miss Knox and Miss V.
