ANNUAL REVIEW

ST. JOHN BRIGADE DEMONSTRATION ID-MORROW* AN INTERESTING CEREMONY To-morrow afternoon the annual inspection and display of the St. John Ambulance Brigade (Otago district) is to bo held in the Queen’s Gardens. It is expected that between 600 and 700 members, including nurses, cadets, V.A.D.s, and transport, will be on parade. The reviewing officer will be Colonel G-. Barclay,, 0.8. E.. Kt. St. J., V.D., the chief commissioner for tho bi'igado in New Zealand. The parade is scheduled to start from the brigade headquarters in York Place, and proceed via St. Andrew and George streets to the Octagon, Princes and High streets to the Queen’s Gardens. ft will be headed by the Kaikorai Baud and tho Brigade Band. . The St. John Women’s Transport Civ ision, the first unit of its kind in the Dominion, will be on parade. It will give a demonstration of sifk and injured work. There will also be the air raids precaution division, which will give a demonstration, using harmless gas. _ . N A demonstration will be given during the display of tho famous Thomas splint for fractures of the lower limbs, and other interesting work connected with the brigade. St. John V.A.D.s will be presented with the certificates during tho afternoon, these being the first to be awarded in New Zealand since the outbreak of war.

In view of the widespread work of the brigade, and the interesting display for to-morrow, it is anticipated that there will bo a large gathering of citizens to witness the various demonstrations.
