TYRE STORE BLAZE

aillGK CONTROL BY BRIGADES [Per Ukited Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 24. A spectacular fire to-night gutted an unoccupied tyre store at the corner of Normauby road and Kohekohe street. Mount Eden. The building was a two-story wooden structure, and held almost 1,000 old motor tyres, which were used by the firm formerly occupying the premises for the manufacture of rubber mats. _ The store was ablaze from end to end when two brigades arrived, and the flames issuing from the eaves threatened a wooden dwelling at the back. Although the fire had a good hold on both stories, it was well under control within 10 minutes of the brigades’ arrival.
