OBITUARY

HR P. PIKE [Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON. October 20. The death has occurred of Mr Phil' Pike, of Hamilton, aged 74 years. He was formerly a prominent public man in Wairarapa. ' Born in Blenheim, Mr Pike was a member. of a well-known Marlborough pioneer family, which arrived in Blenheim in 1864 on the ship Cassapore, the voyage occupying 16 weeks. He was in business at Eketahuna for 20 years. • While in Wairarapa. Mr Pike took a keen interest in public' affairs, being" Mayor of Ekotahuna for a number of years, a member of the Tararua Electric Power Board, and on the Masterton Hospital Boand- He is by his wife, four sons, and two daughters.
