ELECTION POLL WAS PLEBISCITE MINISTER ANSWERS DUNEDIN DOCTORS [Special to the ‘ Stab.’] WELLINGTON, October 20. When, the attention of the Hon. P. Fraser (Minister of Health) was called to the Dunedin doctors’ suggestion for a national plebiscite on the full provisions of the Government’s social security scheme, the Minister replied that he did not believe this was seriously put forward. “ Everybody must agree, he added, “ that- last Saturday there was an excellent and satisfactory referendum on the question'of social security, and that is the only referendum- which will ; be taken on the matter. The immediate duty of all parties immediately concerned is to meet in consultation for the purpose of evolving the best means of implementing the. Government’s social security scheme, including the medical'benefits, which; have been; sooverwhelmingly endorsed by thd people.” "
