(Received May 12, at 1 p.m.) At the wool sales 9,427 bales were offered,' including 3,979 from New Zealand, and 8,192 were sold. A good selection mot with a broadening demand, especially for Australian merinos at firmer rates. Withdrawals were frequent among inferior wools. New Zealand sales : Scoured half-bred, “ Taruarau,” 14Jd and 17Jd. The Stock Exohange_ has received a cable from the Australian glass manufacturers stating that the directors recommend a dividend of 44 per cent, on preference shares in respect to the

half-year ended March 31 last, and of 4 per cent, on ordinary shares, plus a further 5 pef cent, on ordinary shares which later is paid out of income derived from the company's investments.
