ham, from New York and Philadelphia, left Newport News on May 4 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on May 28. LLANGOLLEN FROM JAVA. The charter of the British steamer Llangollen, of 5,050 tons gross, tp carry a cargo of raw sugar from Java to Auckland, has been announced. NEW SOVIET SHIPS. The Soviet Government has placed an order with the Netherland Shipbuilding Company, for two turbo-electric pas'senger and cargo liners of 8,600 tons displacement each. Propelling machinery of 13,000 s.h.p. will give them a speed of 20 knots, NEW JAPANESE LINERS. The Nippon Yusen Kaisha Line proposes to build three fast passenger liners to bring visitors to Japan for the 1940 Olympic Games. They will be of 16,500 tons gross each, with a speed of'22 knots. The keel of the first of the trio is to be laid this month. After the Olympiad the company proposes to put the vessels on a European service. PORT ALMA AT LONDON. Cabled advice has been received by the Port Line that its motor ship Port Alma reached London last Friday. She left Bluff on April 2 for Loudon via Cape Horn. RABAUL’S ITINERARY ALTERED. The W. IR.
