The production of motor vehicles in the United Kingdom for the year ended September 30 exceeded for the firsttime 500,000. Of the total 389,633 were care, and 118,116 commercial vehicles, representing an increase in both classes of 10 per cent, over the 1936 number. The vehicles exported numbered 98,663, compared with 75.153 in 1936. The imports for the year t0ta11ed,12,550.
