CLOUDY TO OVERCAST The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office,. Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers,Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—• There has been little change in the situation. Pressure is relatively low over New Zealand, and relatively high to the eastward, while an anti-cyclone covers Australia. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable _ winds, with southerlies predominating. Weather mainly cloudy to overcast, with temperatures mild. Seas slight to moderate. LIGHT, MISTY RAIN. Beginning with scattered _ showers early on Saturday morning, light and misty rain prevailed over the week-end, though temperatures were mild, with little wind. The totals of the respective falls over a 24-hour period on Saturday and Sunday were .08in and .55in, while .06in had fallen from 9 o’clock this morning until noon. Barometric pressure to-day at 12 o’clock was 29.7 in, when the respective maximum and minimum temperature readings were 54deg and 52deg. The registrations on Saturday and Sunday over 24 hours were 57.3 deg and 37.5 deg and 54deg and 49.6 deg. The sky was heavily overcast this morning, but the rainfall was very light, and no wind was in evidence.
