CHANGEABLE, PASSING SHGWERS The following weather report was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, covering the southern districts: Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—< A secondary depression which was developing to the westward yesterday; deepened considerably during the night, and is noy crossing the South Island. Pressure is'high over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Moderate to strong south-west to southerly winds, reaching gale force at times in exposed positions. Weather changeable, with passing showers, and possibly hail and thunder in places. Temperatures cool. Seas rough. FURTHER. HEAVY SHOWERS. Though the rain ceased at noon yesterday and sunshine was apparenfAoccasionally during the afternoon this morning was again wet, with heavy showers. No wind was registered all morning, barometric pressure was rising at noon at 29.45 in, and temperatures showed a tendency to rise. At noon indications were unfavourable, the afternoon promising to be again boisterous. Temperatures at 12 o’clock to-day were 57deg and 54deg maximum and minimum respectively, as compared with 53.5 deg and 49.2 deg over the same period yesterday. For a 24-hour period yesterday the registrations were 58deg and 43deg, the rainfall being .15in. For the duration of the rains 3.52 in haj been recorded.
