NEW APPOINTMENT TO STAFF MR H. B. LOWS BRILLIANT CAREER [Per United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., February 12. The Massey College Council has confirmed the appointment of Mr H. B. Low, M.A., as lecturer in agricultural economics, in place of Mr D. O. Williams, who is now a Government director on the Bank of New Zealand. Mr Low was dux of the Timaru Boys’ High School in 1927. He entered the Canterbury University College in 1928 as the holder of a university national scholarship, and won the John Counal Scholarship in 1929. In 1930 he was awarded the senior scholarship in economics for the student securing the highest marks for third-year work in the four New Zealand colleges and completed a brilliant career by obtaining his M.A. degree with first-class honours in economics. In 1933 he acted as assistant lecturer in economics at Canterbury College. For the past three years Mr- Low has been on the staff of the Nanking University in China, where he was engaged partly in research work in agricultural economics.
