The Canterbury ' Cricket Association decided this evening to approve of the •uggestion made by the New Zealand Cricket Council that the team to meet the touring HjLC.C. players at Lancaster Park on March 9 and later dates should be a combined Otago and Canterbury side, instead of a Canterbury team. O.C.A. MEETING A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Otago Cricket Association was held last night, the president ((Mr A. H. Allen) occupying -the chair. COUNTRY WEEK. Mr J. Dunning reported that, despite the short notice, he had managed to arrange a town team to take the place of the North Otago team, which was to have played Central Otago, ■ and which had withdrawn from the Country Week fixtures. M.C.C. Visit. A suggestion was made by the New Zealand Cricket Council that the fixture Canterbury v. M.C.C., on the itinerary of th« visiting team, should be played by a combined Canterbury and Otago team. The Chairman said that the suggestion had really originated at this end, as there was no provision for an Otago match, and it was felt that the local players should have an opportunity to meet the M.C.C. The proposal was accepted. POSTPONED MATCHES, The secretary of the Mornington Club wrote asking if it would be possible to withhold points to a certain time for all clubs which should have played on Logan Park on November 7. It had been rumoured that the clubs affected were to receive one point each, and this was considered to be unfair. The secretary was to be advised that the matches would be played later in the season if necessary. FINANCE. The financial statement showed that there was a bank overdraft of £7 15s Bd. Mr D. A. Solomon remarked that in view of the black outlook at the end of last season the association should be well satisfied with the present position.
