I I CROSSAN-SMITH—DIDHAM. On the afternoon of June 20 a pretty wedding was solemnised at the home of the bridegroom's aunt, .Mrs Williamson, Beach street, St. Clair, when Eileen May, younger daughter of Mrs Didham, of Auckland, was married to 1010 Somerfield, younger son of Mr and Mrs J. Crossan-Smith, of " Greenlea," | Kaitangata. The Rev. P. B. Eraser, an oldtfriend of the family, officiated, and the appropriate music was supplied by Miss Lex. Armit. The bride, who Has given away by her eldest brother, Mr William Didham, was attractively frocked in a gown of ivory crepe de chine. The bodice was made with a soft cowled neckline, with full sleeves to the elbow, tight to the wrists, with fine tucking. The skirt, moulded to the figure, fell in graceful lines to the ground. Her embroidered veil was held in place by a Juliet cap "of orange blossoms. She wore white slippers and carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, winter roses, and maidenhair fern, with white streamers. The bridegroom's cousin, Miss Isahel Williamson, as bridesmaid, was attired in a gown of shell pink cellophano crepe de chine which fell gracefully to the ground. The frilled neck, sleeves, and skirt were trimmed with dainty pink and green flowers, and a pink and silver bandeau was worn on the hair. Her bouquet was composed of bronze chrysanthemums with maidenhair ferri. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Maurice Chetwin as best man. At the reception later Mrs Didham received the guests attired in a deep wine ensemble. She was assisted by Mrs J. CrossanSmith, who chose, a green frock and hat trimmed with velvet, with a velvet coatee. A feature ,of the occasion was the presence of the three grandmothers, Mesdames Didham and Waugh (grandmothers of the bride) and Mrs Burnard (grandmother of the bridegroom). During the afternoon solos were- rendered by the Misses Lex. Armit and Isabel Williamson. The bride travelled in a saxe blue jumper suit with a navy blue coat relieved with fur. and navy ; blue velour hat and accessories to tone. The future home of Mr and Mrs I. S. | Smith will be at Kaitangata. PRINGLE—WALKER. On the evening of Saturday, May 16, u very pretty wedding was solemnised at Trinity Methodist Churchy when Liela, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Walker, of Tyne street, Roslyn, was married to David, eldest son of Rev. J. and Mrs Pringle, of Garfield Avenue, Roslyn. The church was decorated in shades of pink and green hydrangeas by. a friend of the bride. Rev. C. H. Olds, assisted by Rev. J. Pringle (father of the bridegroom), officiated, and Miss Hartley presided at the organ. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a gown of ivory satin, the bodice being slightly shirred to form a cowl. Her embroidered veil was held in place, by a dainty Juliet cap, and she carried a -.bouquet of white roses, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister Muriel, who wore a frock of pale pink lace, showing the new cape effect. She wore a wide stitched hat in the same toning, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and maidenhair fern. ; The little flower girl, Ivonne Lambourne, was daintily dressed in cream georgette, and carried a posy of pink and cream roses. The bridegroom's brother, Mr John Pringle, was best man. and Mr O. Walker and Mr C. Pringle acted as ushers. During the' signing of the register, Miss D. Sligo gave a delightful rendering of ' The Song of Thanksgiving.' The reception was held at the Strand Salon, the guests being received by Mrs Walker and Mrs Pringle, the former wearing a, brown lace frock with a brown velour hat, and carrying a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Mrs Pringle wore a black ring velvet frock relieved with cream and black hat; her bouquet was of red roses and maidenhair fern. Rev. C, H. Olds presided, and the susual toasts were' honoured. Mr and Mrs I>. Pringle motored to Christchurch, the bride's travelling dress being a navy wool crepe frock, with hat and shoes to tone, and a fur coat. Subsequent to their return, the bride was entertained at a " pantry " evening given by Mrs Lambourne, of Roslyn. and a "kitchen" evening given by the bridesmaid. M" n y valuable gifts were received from relatives and friends. The future home of,the bridal couple will be Papakaio, wherb JVIr Pringle is head master of the school.
