The sequel to a fatal collision on April 11 was heard at Wnipawa when Arthur Rcvell Parkin, of Waipawa, was charged with recklessly driving a car. thereby causing tile death of Harry Ralph Haynes. Simultaneously an inquest concerning the death of Haynes was held. The magistrate (Mr J. Miller) discharged the defendant, remarking that there was not sufficient evidence to warrant committing him for trial.

The coroner’s verdict was that the deceased met his death as the result of injuries received when the motor cycle which he was riding was struck on the rear wheel by an overtaking motor ear driven by Parkin.
