NATIONAL UNEMPLOYED WORKERS’ MOVEMENT A .public mooting of ail unemployed and sustenance men was held under the ausnices of the Dunedin Central branch of die National Unemployed Workers’ Movement in the Trades Hail last 'Tuesday evening to discuss the new scale of relief rates and payment to men on sustenance. Cr M. Silverstone presidedl over a very large attendance. After the new scheme and rates nf pay had been fully explained by the chairman to the satisfaction of all present the following resolution was carried;— “That this meeting of unemployed and sustenance men, having heard the Government’s new rates of pay and conditions explained, is of the opinion that the Government will, as soon as conditions permit, give full effect to its election promises as regards the general treatment of the unemployed.”
