DUNEDIN CENTRAL.

TO TOE EDITOR. Sir, —I was not surprised at Mr Wrea painting Mr Neilson a vivid red at his meeting at Cameron Hall, .Anderson’s Bay. This is apparently the 11 big stick,” and may be used to gain, the , desired end, but what are the facts?, Mr Wren told his audience he had been, to Russia, but he did not tell them when until persistently questioned. .The answer was 1924., 11 years ago, yet Mr Wren expects men of his calibre will bring this land out of the present state to the desired Utopia in the next terra of Parliament. Mr Wren should not speak of any country if he does not know the conditions. Let him visit that country now and give, the t present state of that much-discussed land. I am positive, like many others; ho would be deeply impressed. Mr Neilson has this country’s problem before him if elected. I feel sure the public are broadminded enough not to take Mr Wren’s words too seriously. - No aspiring member should seek supportby trying to discredit another by “ slinging off ” mud. Taking Me Wren’s address, I failed to see any consistency in it. The audience was amused. If Mr Wren intends going, abroad again let him try Hollywood. Laurel and Hardy are seeking men of Mr Wren’s talents—humorous and pleasing, but the future of many people : is in jeopardy, and we need men of Mr Neilson’s type. A common; baker and a white man, too, he understands what hunger means to many of his supporters, and knows many of his loaves cannot reach these people, and knows why.—l am, etc., , B. E. Kite.
