FIRE INSURANCE PICNIC
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As a member of an insurance office, I, and many would be obliged if we could be enlightened as to the reason why one or two wellknown companies should remain open on the occasion of the _ fire insurance companies’ annual picnic and sports meeting. It must appear to the general public that such an unwarranted act is merely a sign of selfishness or total disregard for the feelings of their employees. One can only imagine the thoughts of these unfortunate beings on having to work while others enjoy themselves. Wo is responsible for this state of affairs. How can those who are responsible expect theri neglected employees to consider the firm they work for by bringing iu new business, as expected ? Where do insurance guilds stand in these matters?—l am, etc., Do Unto Others. March 2.
