TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Mr Semple’s reply to my letter of November 3 calls for comment on account of its glaring inaccuracy. He attributes these words to vine: “Mr Semple is unfortunate in that 1 was in Gallipoli,'and known the slide in question to be faked.” 1 said nothing or the sort, and refer your readers to your issue. of that date, in which I said: “ Who is responsible I do not know, but I have the advantage of Mr Semple in that 1 was on Gallipoli on April 25. 1915, and left that locality after the evacuation, and consequently know . . that no New Zealand dead or any other were left unlmried.” Regarding the other slide, Mr Semple says it “ may ”, have appeared in the book referred to. Undoubtedly it does, along with the balance of fifty or sixty he twits me with ignoring—hence the word plagiarism. Regarding my nom
do plume it would convey no more to vour readers'than does the name of Mr Semple’s -son-in-law, but qgam 1 refer to my previous, letter, the concluding sentence of which is: “ My name is available with your permission to anyone who cares to dispute anonymity with plagiarism.”—l am. etc., Six-Bar.
