MOSGIEL CATHOLIC SCHOOL

ANNUAL CONCERT The pupils of St. Mary’s Convent School, Mosgiel, were most successful in their annual concert staged in the Coronation Hall. All the items showed careful teaming on the part ot the teachers. The Rev. Dr O Neill was chairman. The fancy dress items were shown to good effect by coloured spot lights. : The programme was as ipllows:— Chorus, ( Where Wild Flowers Bloom, pupils; pianoforte duet, Misses M. Pryde and Iris Cheyne; drill display, junior boys; action song, infants; farce, Masters D. Bulman. I. Andrews, B. Hcasley. and R. Jordan; song,’ ‘ Gleaners,’ senior girls; pianoforte duet, Misses M. Shand and A. O’Connell; national dancing—Misses Kovaleski, M. Keith, A. Curran, M. Greavesf and E. Chirnside; recitation, Molly Pryde; song, ‘ Good Night, juniors; drill display, girls; pianoforte duet. Miss L. Yuill and Master G. Fielding; humorous vocal duet. Miss Iris Cheyne and Master lan Andrews; song, ‘ Dutcbies,’ juniors; double sword dance, Misses M. Keith airl M. Greaves, pianoforte duet, Miss Mary Bevis , and Dan Pearce; humorous sketch, ‘Amelia Obliges —Jean Crawford, Eileen Bulman, Molly Pryde, Iris Cheyne, Mary Wilson lan Andrews', Aileen Curran, and Graham Crawford; final chorus,, ‘ God Defend New Zealand,’ pupils. Miss M. Carroll played the accompaniments and Mr Chirnside the pipe-music for the dancing.
