THE ENGLISH TOUR ■

ARTHUR HAILEY'S TEAM Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 30. The 'Australian team will be selected to-morrow night. It is likely to be prefaced by an acrimonious discussion on the last bodyline cable despatched by Mr R. Oxlade, chairman of the Board of Control, which the Victorian and Queensland delegates declare was sent without their authority. Arthur Hailey’s choice >of players is as follows:—Woodfull, Ponsford, Bromley, Darling, Fleetwood-Smith, Kipp ax, Bradman, O’Reilly, M'Cabe, Oldfield, Fingleton, Brown, M'Cormick, Walker, Wan. Grimmett.

SHEFFIELD SHIELD NEW SOUTH WAIiES V. VICTORIA Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 30. Victoria in their second innings lost five wickets for 274 (Woodfull 11, Darling 33, Scaife 80, Rigg 35, Bromley not out 33, Barnett not out 13: O’Reilly two for 33, Hill two for 52, Theak one for 47). New South Wales won the match on the first innings, but Victoria wins the Sheffield Shield. Only an outright victory in this match would have enabled New South Wales to retain the shield, but the Victorians, by stonewalling, prevented this.
