TAKAFUNA J.C. TRACK WORK AT ELLERSLIE [Pe* United Press Association. ] - AUCKLAND, Januarv 25. The final gallops for the Takapuna Jockey Club’s Meeting were held at Ellcrslie on the course proper, with the poles 25ft from the rails. The going was perfect, and some fast times were recorded. Morehu and Hawthorn opened proceedings, running six furlongs in Imin 19 3-ssec, the former finishing in front. Royal Appellant covered five furlongs .in Imin 5 4-ssec, running on nicely. Gay Broney, with Barn Dance over the last five, completed six furlongs in Imin 19 3-ssec, going evenly throughout. Imamint and Puriri Park galloped five furlongs in Imin 4 4-ssee. There was little between them at the-end. United was holding Wee Musk comfortably after a mile. He ran the first half in 52 3-Ssec and the full distance in Imin 45 3-ssec. Courthaven and Ornamental worked over a mile, the first half in 54 3-ssec, and completed the distance in Imin 49 l-ssec. Courthaven held the lead at the finish. Over a similar distance Bright Flower finished in front of Zane Grey in Imin 51 4-ssec. The two-year-olds Seven Seas and Horotiu ran half a mile in 52 3-ssee, finishing on terms. Timorous and Horowhenua, after the first furlong run in 14 l-ssec, recorded Imin 4 4-ssec for five furlongs. Both worked well. . King Musk accomplished a first-class gallop over six furlongs. He ran the first three in 37sec, and completed the distance in Imin 18 l-ssec, running on strongly. Glenromney and Kelly, after the first furlong run in 12 l-ssec, reeled off half a mile in 50 3-ssec. They were together at the conclusion. Master Bricrly and Baroscope worked over a round with Jewelled Girdle. The full distance took- 2min 6 l-ssec. The last seven took Imin 35 3-ssec. and the final six Imin 23 2-ssec. Master Brierly performed well, drawing clear of the other pair in the straight to finish several lengths in front. Barograph and Foreign Money were Barograph and Foreign Money were sent half a mile, and completed their task in 51 2-sseo. Psychologist was sent a mile, putting up an attractive performance. He ran the first two furlongs in 23 3-ssec. four in ’49 4-ssec. five in Imin 1 3-ssec. and registered Imin 42sec for the full distance. This was one of the best performances at Ellerslio for a number of years over this distance. Alpinns worked over seven furlongs, covering the_ first four in 52 2-ssec. He completed his gallop in Imin 33 3-ssec. Oil No. 3 grass Glenrata ran the last three furlongs in 39 4-ssec.
