YACHTING AFFAIRS

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association was held last night. Air J. Small, vice-president, was in the chair, and the delegates present were Alessrs T. Brookes, D. Jenkins, A. Challis, C. Smith, W. Webber, T. Anderson, W. O. Alartiu, and A. Burt. Air A. Challis was appointed the association’s delegate to the Sanders Cup Conference and manager of the Otago crew. Air Anderson moved that, as the motor boat championship of New Zealand was an open event, and in view of new classes which might be instituted, it be a recommendation to the New Zealand Yachting Council that all yachting, motor boat, and other interprovincial events that might ho from time to time agreed upon open, so as to encourage the building of • the various classes of boats, and to enable builders to challenge, supply the crew, and hear the expense to and from the contest. This would enable a province to have more than one boat in each class. Several delegates supported the motion, but as nothing could be done in the meantime it was decided to hold the matter over for the present. It was resolved that Eileen be despatched to Lyttelton on "Wednesday, and "that the crew travel on the following day." THE FORSTER CUP Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 24. P. Batt, a member of a well-known yachting family of. Hobart. The Queensland yacht Amity was second.
