JAPANESE STEAMER SINKS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CAPE TOWN. January 16. (Received January 17, at 1 p.m.) The Japanese steamer Paris Maru .struck a rock outside Port Elizabeth. The vessel was assisted back to the bay by two tugs, but she was pounded by the heavy seas, and sank by the head. She was an extra steamer put on to cope with the flood of Japanese goods coming to Africa.
