DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS [Pei; Umted Pi-.ess Association.] WELLINGTON, January 22. Six finals were decided at the dominion croquet tournament at Lower Hutt and Petone on Saturday. 'The weather was dull and overcast, but the rain held oil. The conditions wore not unpleasant. The finalists gave exhibitions of excellent croquet, H. P. Stratton, in particular, playing faultlessly throughout. The tournament visitors have been lavish in their praise of the greens, which wore in excellent condition for scientific croquet. .Results: LEVEL SINGLES. A GRADE FINAL. E. Managh boat Mrs Lees, 26-22. WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. FIRST .LIFE FINAL. Mrs Caldow boat Mrs Watkins by default. SECOND LIFE FINAL. Mrs Watkins boat Mrs Caldow by default. FIRST v. SECOND LIFE FINAL. Mrs Caldow beat Mrs Watkins, 26-25, 26-9. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. SECOND ROUND. Captain Hartnell beat Mrs Tingcv, 26-11, 26-3. FT. P. Stratton beat Mrs Bartlett, 26-17, 26-23. SEMI-FINAL. Mrs Watkins beat A. G. F. Ross, 26-17, 26-10. HANDICAP SINGLES. FINAL. Mrs Kibblewhite beat Mrs Bassett, 26-21. HANDICAP DOUBLES FINAL. E. Managh and Mrs Bartlett beat Mrs Tingey and Mrs Clark, 26-20. The final of the open championship will bo played on Riddiford Park tomorrow morning betw'oen H. P. Stratton and Mrs C. Atkins, both of Hawke’s Bay. FIXTURES. The following fixtures have been arranged by the Croquet Council:Dominion tourney, Christchurch, about January 17. North Island tourney, Hamilton or Rotorua, about January 4. South Island tourney, Ashburton or Timaru, about January 4.
