TIMARU T.C.

PRESIDENT'S TO SUNNY MORN HAROLD LOGAN BEATS ROI L'OR The Timaru Trotting Club’s Meeting was held in showery weather. Between the showers the atmosphere was foggy and heavy. The track was dead as a result of misty rain. The attendance was good and the totalisator handled £8,793, against £9,303 last yedr. After the Salisbury Handicap a protest was lodged by W. J. Doyle, the driver of Prince Author, against the winner’s driver, M. B. Edwards, on the grounds of interference. The stewards dismissed the protest, but fined Edwards £5 for crossing too soon. The match race between Harold Logan and Roi I’Or was won by Harold Logon. The winner drew the inside, and was a neck in front when the horses got under way. They raced in close company all the way with Harold Logan gaining about a neck on the bends. Two furlongs from home the pair were level, but Harold Logan took the lead on the bend into the straight, and halfway down was over a length in front. Both finished under the whip, Harold Logan winning by three-quarters of a length. Tho mile took 2mm lOsec, and the full journey 2min 42 l-ssec.
