Then when the police arrived she shot a policeman dead, firing through a glass door, saying that they had no warrant Mrs Thompson then engaged thirty police in a revolver battle for two hours till they smoked her out with tear gas bombs. She emerged firing right and left, and then finally fell dead to an officer’s bullet.
