Tiie monthly meeting of the lied Cros Society was presided over by the president (the Rev. V. G. Bryan King), The Chairman said they were all sorry to learn that their fellow member, Mr Rosevear, had suffered bereavement in the death of a sister.—A motion of sympathy was passed, members standing in silence. A letter was received from the Hospital Board conveying thanks for gifts of tobacco, books, and papers to patients at Wakari. A letter was received from the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association regarding arrangements for the Anzac memorial service.—lt was resolved that the society should bo represented, and that a wreath should be supplied. The cases of three ox-sokliers were considered.—lt was resolved that two did not warrant any action, and that the third should be referred to the Central Committee. Mrs Stanley Batchelor reported for tho hospital visitors. Two patients were in rather poor condition, but the others seemed to be doing fairly well. Comforts were distributed as usual, and the men were really grateful for them. The matron sent in a satisfactory report. Four men had been admitted and four discharged. There were thirteen men receiving treatment at the home. Members were very pleased to note that the list of very acceptable gifts for patients that had been received.
Misses Rattray and Graham supplemented the matron’s report, and also reported that Miss Miller, vocational instructress, now appeared to be making a satisfactory recovery from her recent illness.
