CONTINUATION OF RINKS NO MORE PLAY TILL TUESDAY Bright sunshine this morning gave the players and officials of the ladies’ howling tournament hope for a good day’s play, it being proposed to decide the green winners in the rinks on the Caversbam, Mornington, and Kaikorai greens, whilst on the St. Kilda green this afternoon it had been intended to carry on with the pairs and singles competitions. Heavy rain, however, commenced early this afternoon, ami it was decided to abandon play until Tuesday, when the remaining competitions will be settled, and the finals will be held on the St. Kilda green. Results of the fourth round of rinks, played this morning on the greens previously mentioned,. were: — CAVERSHAM GREEN. Mrs Easton (Dunedin) 29, Miss Whelan (Mornington), 14. Mrs Stubbs (Caversbam) 23, Mrs Rendall (Waikouaiti) 8. Mrs Whitton (St. Kilda) defaulted to Mrs Hutchison (Logan Park). MORNINGTON GREEN. SECTION A. Mi's Kane (Green Island) 23, Mrs Jones (St. Kilda) 16. Mrs Morrison (Otago) won by default. There being a section tie, Mrs Kane again meets Mrs Jones, the winner to play Mrs Morrison, who has drawn a bye, for section winner. SECTION B. Mrs Alexander (Dunedin) 21, Mrs Brough (Caversbam) 17. Section winner: Mrs Alexander. KAIKORAI *€REEN. Mrs Wallace (Mornington) 20, Mrs Grieve (Otago) 17. Mrs Wallace plays Mrs Adess (St. Kilda.) to decide the green winner.
