Arrived: Rangitane (G. 30 a.m.) and Waihemo (7.30 a.m.), from Wellington; Rangitata (8.35 a.m.), from Tokomaru Bay; Holmdale (8.45 a.m.) and Waipahi (9.50 a.m.), from Timaru. FREMANTLE, December 23. Arrived: Baradine, from London. COLON, December 21. Arrived: Tainui, from London. CURACAO, December 21.—Sailed: Middlesex, for the United Kingdom. PORT CHALMERS SHIPPING. During _ the present year 89 vessels have visited Port Chalmers. The Rangitane, which is duo to-morrow, will make a total of 90 for the year. The wool season usually accounts for the largest number in any one month. Last January there, were nine,, .and in Feb-
$ ruary ten vessels at Port Chalmers. The wool dumping plants are at present experiencing the annual busy period. Tho wool from last week’s sale is being dumped. The Rangitane may load a small amount of “ free ” wool, but the lirst vessels of the wool fleet will be tho Bcnlawers, Cumberland, and Tairoa, early in January. Tho Bcnlawers, which is a Scales chartered steamer, will lift Continental consignments in addition to loading for England*
