Mr J. B. Callan left for Fairlic this morning. Mr and Mrs C. J. L. White entrained at 11.35 to-day for Auckland. Mr D. S. Broughton, commercial agent, New Zealand railways, started this morning for Auckland. Mr W. B. Steel left this morning for a holiday in the North Island. Mr Justice Adams travelled to Christchurch by the first express today. Mr Ernest Farnie, a former Dunedin resident, who retired recently from the position of Commissioner of Crown Lands in the Gisborne district, is at present revisiting this city. Dr Pauline Witherow, of Dunedin, the eldest daughter of Mr Thomas Witherow, returned to New Zealand by, the Marama from Sydney after studying abroad for the past two years. She has been attending lectures in bacteriology, as well as hygiene and tropical medicine. She is returning to the Otago University to continue her studies. —Auckland correspondent.
