CHRISTMAS CAROLS.

TO TKX XDITOK. Sir, —In other centres this Christmas time funds for unemployed and distress are being raised by bands of carol singers and instrumentalists. Cannot something be done in Dunedin? I commend the suggestion to 'our bands* choirs, etc. Big returns would surely reward their efforts, besides bringing home to all the spiritual meaning of Christmas. Hoping something will be done, and the fountains of charity play to ‘ Christians, Awake,’ and * Hark the> Herald Angels Sing,’ etc.—l am, etc.* Cheistmas Caeoxi. December 22.
