CATHOLIC CARNIVAL
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS’ SCHOOL .A carnival organised by tho Christian Brothers’ Old Hoys’ Association to assist the school was opened in tho Sisters of Mercy Orphanage grounds last evening. Tho Rev. Mcr. Delaney,, in declaring the carnival 'open, referred to tho objects of 11 io function,which would appeal to all who had ever been associated in any way with the Brothers’ School. Last night’s programme consisted of items rondo, ed hy St. Joseph’s Cathedral Choir, conducted by Mr H. Ro)>pclwell, and tho TV avoid ey’s Boys’Band, under tho guidance of Mr D, Wind an. Tho grounds, wind) _ an* brightly illuminated with electricity* present a gay and festive appearance, and business at tho stalls was brisk. Tho carnival will be continued tonight and to-morrow afternoon ami evening.
