MIXED ROOF SUNBATHS
TEA PARTIES IN THE NUDE * BINOCULARS FOR POLICE. Police officers armed with powerful binoculars were recently busily scanning the roof-tops of_ the Metropolis (Paris) in search of mixed sun-bathing parties (says the ‘ Sunday Chronicle ’)• The reason for this extraordinary action is that the authorities are extremely concerned with the fact that numerous jfflat-dwellers_ in different parts of Paris have joined tho ranks of naked sun-bathers, and during the warmer spells of the day lie without clothing on_ tho garden roofs of luxury buildings., . ■ They are of either sex and of various ages. Even tea parties are indulged in, tho guests sitting around naked, talking and joking us unconcernedly as though they were in tho drawing room below. They contend that the police arc powerless to take action against them, as their sun-baths do nob involve the exposure of their bodies to any but “ the faithful,” who will certainly not protest, and “Peeping Toms” would be afraid to do so. Upon the results of Iho survey of the suspected -areas will depend the nature of the action to bo taken by tho authorities '
