GOOD TEMPLARY
Tiio Hope of Dunedin Lodge, No. 155, 1.0.G.T., bold its weekly meeting in Gowd Templar Hull, Princes street, C.T, Bro. H. Gore presided over a fair attendance of , members. An invitation was accepted from Hope of Cavcrsham Lodge to attend a social evening. One candidate was initiated and welcomed. Members were reminded of a concert to bo given by a Maori party in aid of tbo queen carnival in tbo near future. A hearty welcome was extended to SisterGain, also Bro. and Sister Giles, Hope of_ Cavershnm Lodge. Each member suitably responded. Tbo lodge was closed in tbo usual way, and was followed by (i brothers’ surprise.” 'IT jo Silver Star Juvenile Temple, No. 9, met with Sister South, sen., in charge. There was a good attendance of members. One candidate was initiated. During tbo meeting badges were distributed among the children. These wcr> given by Pro. S. Chapman, S.J.W. Tbo temple was then dosed •n the usual way. Tbo meeting of tbo All Nations Lodge, No. 13, 1.0.G.T., was held in tbo Curry Street Hall, Port Chalmers, C.T. Bro. Ralph Campbell presiding over a very good attendance of members, besides visitors from the Rescue and Star of Freedom Lodges. _ During the evening three friends wore initiated into the order, and one candidate proposed for membership. The financial secretary and treasurer submitted a report showing that good progress bad been made during the past year. The following committees were then appointed :—Finance Committee—P.G.T. Bro. R E. Cromarty, Sec. Bro. C. Wade, V.T. Sister Mrs Smillio; Visiting Com-mittee—-all officers. The programme for the evening, which created some amusement, was doll dressing for brothers and hail driving for sisters. _ Prizes were given by Sister L. Braithwaite, and the winners were as follows: Doll dressing, Bio. Smillio 1, Bro. Cromartv 2; nail driving. Sister Mrs Cook I, Sister M. Murray 2. Sister Mercer Rescue Lodge) and Sister Wilson (Star of Freedom Lodge) acted as judges for the doll dressing. _ Greetings were received from the visiting decided to open tho lodge at 7.30 p.rn. at the next meeting, as it will bo aii open night. The meeting of tbo Rcscuo Lodge, No. 105, was held in tbo Oddfellows’ Hall, Kensington, Bro. W. 0. lies, C.T., presiding over a good attendance. Visitors were present from Hope of Caversbam, Star of_Freedom, and Hope of Dunedin Lodges' and were cordially welcomed. Reports were received from the Syllabus and Finance Committees, which showed the lodge to be in good standing. Sacred and temperance items were contributed by a number of the members. The Pride of Waitati Lodge held its weekly meeting, C.T. Bro. Wilkinson presiding. Visitors were present from tho Rescue Lodge. Competitions were held which were both instructive and amusing. - The Ever Hopeful and Star of the South Juvenile Temples held their meetings respectively, large attendances being present at both meetings, which were in charge of Bro. Hilton. The Hope of Cavershnm Lodge, No. 123. held its weekly meeting in the Baxter Hall. Sister Mrs Giles, C.T., presided over a largo attendance of members and visitors from Rescue, Hope of Dunedin, Star of Freedom, and Endeavour Lodges were given a cordial welcome. The members of the Rescue Lodize paid an official visit. Bro. Watt. (H.M.S. Diomede) and Bro. Dalton each spoke a few words, and wore listened to with great interest. Bro. E. Ties took charge of the _ following programme:—Songs Sister Steadman, Sister G. Thorn, Sister T. Pauli, Bros. Allpress, Hilton, Dickinson. and E. Ties; recitations—Sister Thomas, Sister Dray, and Bro. Watt.
