ALLEGED THEFT
A youth named . Wilkin Ramsdon Avery was charged with the theft of a motor car, valued at £175, tho property of David Russell Thompson, at Cave, near Timaru, on May 18. Chief-detective Cameron asked for a remand until June 7, and this was granted. REMANDED IN CUSTODY. Peter Graham, who was charged with being found without lawful excuse in M‘Call mu and Co.’s timber yard,' under circumstances that did-not'disclose the commission of or intention to commit any other offence, was remanded till June 12, in the custody of Mr Locke, child welfare officer.—The Sub-inspector said that when tho accused was found he had in his possession some property which was reported to have been stolen, Mr Locke stating that the accused had absconded irom the special school at Otekaikc. DRUNKENNESS ALLEGED. A man charged with drunkenness did not appear, Sub-inspector Cummings stating that the defendant had been admitted to the-hospital with a bone broken in his leg. Ho was remanded till June 19.
