STRAND’S NEW FEATURE Dramatic power- and physical bigness are both present in ‘Resurrection/ says tho Strand Theatre management, which offers the InspirationCarews film of Tolstoy’s classic novel on Friday next. The star of tho picture is Rod La Roque and the featured player is Dolores del Rio. ltdwin Carews directed and United Artists release the feature. ‘ I have just seen ‘Resurrection, says a cntic, “and the huge scale of the production and its llesh-and-bloqd appeal to the emotions hit the audience in tho eye as soon as the first reel is run off.” Inspiration Pictures and Edwin Carews have made a lavish production of Tolstoy’s famous novel, and that with Rod La Roque and Dolores del Rio perfectly cast and Count Ilya lolstov, son of the author of ‘ Resurrection/ aiding Mr Carews, the entertainment values that have made the novel a perpetual best seller are all to be found in the picture. Among the facts and figures supplied by Mr wiax are the names of the principals, Lou La Roque, star of ‘The 'Lcn Commandments/ ‘Feet of Clay, and Gicrolo/ and Dolores del Bio, the Chaimaine” of ‘What Price Glory and the “Carmen” of that film.
