SIR HARRY LAUDER

AT HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE In his particular line of entertainment Sit Harry Lauder has no peer. Many years have passed since ho first entertained on a Dunedin stage, and it says much for his wonderful personality and powers that on his present visit he is creating as many laughs as of yore. ■ At His Majesty’s Theatre last night the attendance was again excellent, and an exceedingly pleasant two and a-half hours’ entertainment was enjoyed. Sir Harry Lauder gripped his audience’s attention and he held it throughout his long act, in which ho sang old and new favourites in his whimsical style and told many clever and witty stories. He is a famed raconteur. Assisting the noted Scottish comedian was a strong company. Tiki Carpenter danced cleverly, and Tiki’s sex was a surprise to the audience at the finish. Rupert Hazel and Elsie Day indulged in song, patter, and instrumental work for a while, and then tho Fredo Brothers, two vaudeville artists who scored a, big success, on a previous visit to Dunedin, tumbled and danced with agility as they played their yiolms. Don Julian’s lightning sketches were quite masterly. Tho orchestra, under Mr Haydn Beck’s control, added not a little to the enjoyment or the programme, which was bright and breezy from curtain rise. The programme will be presented again this evening.
