TWO KEW FLIGHTS [British Official Wireless.) Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, August 22. (Received, August 23, at noon.) Au important extension of tho .Imperial air defences is about to be made bv the Air Ministry. Two new lights of supor-marino Southampton Hying boats are to he formed at Cattcwater \ir Station, Plymouth. The first of these lights, when the boat has completed its trials at Plymouth, will bo to Eastern waters. It was at first intended to base on Karachi, hut it is now almost- certain that Basra will ho tho base. Tho second flight, which will be ready next spring, will remain at Plymouth for coastal defence purposes. , ~ . , Next year, therefore, the dying boat defences' of the Empire will be disposed as follows:—Two flights in Homo waters at Calshot and Plymouth and two flights on the trade routes—on >, at Basra and one at .Singapore. Tho Singapore flight will by the four super-marine Napiers, which arc at present in Australia.
