DRIVEN LIKE A ROCKET
HEW GERMAN SPEED CAR TO SMASH WORLD’S RECORD. Press Association— By Telegraph--Copyright. BERLIN, April 13. A belief that all speed records can bo broken by a rocket car appears in a statement issued by the Opel Motor Company, claiming that Max valier, nicknamed “ the fantastic cosmos flyer,” owing to his idea of building a rocket which can be shot into space, has invented a motor car driven like a rocket by combustible powder instead of petrol. The company says that the motor car has attained a speed of 100 kilometres hourly within Bscc of starting. It will shortly make an effort to break Captain Campbell’s record, which will necessitate the rocket car travelling on a railway track. The company adds that the machine is only a step towards a rocket air machine, which will be able to reach higher altitudes than have ever been attained without a crew. The company is convinced that such a machine will even this year penetrate space.—Australian Press Association-United Service.
