CAPTAIN WILKINS AN ACCIDENT FEARED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER, April 12. In the absence of word from the Cape Barrow Government radio station, experts fear that an accident has be-' fallen the explorer Captain Wilkins. — Australian Press Association-United Service. THE ROUTE TO INDIA BRITISH HOPES DESTROYED. LONDON, April 13. The aviation correspondent of the ‘ Morning Post ’ says that the definite establishment of the Kabul-Tashkent air service by Russo-German interests destroys British hopes of being the first to connect Britain and India by air,. Already Russo-German lines run from Moscow to Bushire via Teheran, while the proposed British Caivo-Karachi line failed to materialise owing to difficulties in Persia. Meanwhile Imperial Airways are continuing a blind alley line from Cairo to Basra, which is an almost useless portion of the proposed Cairo* Karachi route. With the establishment 'of fully-equipped aerodromes controlled by Russian and German interests carrying lines as far as Bushire and Kabul, it will not ho long before they accomplish the final stage to India,—Australian Press Association.
