ST. KILDA LIFE-SAVING CLUB.
TO THE EDITOE.
Sir, —After the history of the St. Kilda Life-saving Club as published in last evening’s ‘ Star,’ I feel that little more can be said at present. However, in courtesy to my friend Air J. Pereira, 1 will briefly reply to his letter of the 16th inst. f can assure him that 1 was only imparting information received after consulting prominent men connected with the Domain Board and the old club. I had no desire to cast any reflection on Air Pereira or the people of Tomahawk in what I stated, and 1 ask him to accept my humble apology. Permit me to congratulate him and the people of Tomahawk for their enterprise in raising funds with wdiich to purchase a reel, and thus give assistance in saving human life. As requested by one of your correspondents, 1 shall bo pleased to subscribe towards paying off the balance owing on the Tomahawk reel.—l am, etc., R. W. Halt,. Alayor of St. Kilda. February 18.
